TECHINSPIRATION
I am a carpenter. That is not the sum total of who I am despite the fact that at times I feel as though it is. There was a point in my life about 20 years ago that I was convinced that I was going to be a robotics engineer. I was working for a small town Internet service provider as a customer support and internet technician. I was getting A+ and C+ certified and began working towards my css certifications when life had different plans. I was planning on proposing to my high school sweetheart and but I couldn't get over the fact that I made a menial $9 per hour. My dad (in seeing my frustration) told me about the carpenters union and that I could start making $3 more per hour plus insurance and a pension with a raise every 6 months over 4 years. It felt like a no-brainer at the time.
Today I have a remodel company and have had the privilege of working with some of the greatest people to help them design and flesh out their dreams. But I could never fill the urge that I never really fleshed out my dreams. I am a ridiculously driven person with dreams and ambitions that seem to reach beyond the clouds at times. I know I have more ahead. I will not let my career choice define and set the boundaries on my future.
As of today I not only have my remodel company but also. I am an affiliate marketer. I built my own website, I taught myself the basics in coding in multiple languages, I started a podcast on diet and life in general and not to mention a number of hobbies / betterment projects that I am currently involved in such as learning guitar and losing weight and developing a health plan for losing weight the most effective way possible.
The point of all this is to say do not limit yourself to the boundaries built around you today. Dream big (even if you're the only one who believes in you) It's all the more people who will be shocked when you reach your goals. Something I remind myself of often is that approximately 10% of people will achieve generationally impacting wealth from their dreams and goals. Walk in a room with 100 people in it and ask yourself why you can't be 1 of the 10 standing in that room. Don't let anybody set the president of what is the "normal way" 90% of the people in that room are doing the "normal way" you want to do what they are not. You want to harness or discover what they did not.
